There nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her children. Not counting the compassion that overflows from a mom’s heart but out of love, mom would simply conquer it all. Especially when the mom is away and working and could only compensate her absence by giving “material love”.
A friend asked me to accompany her to the city yesterday to helped select a desktop computer for her teenage nephew. I asked her what’s the budget gonna be. She said her sister allotted around $900-1000 for the whole package. Being the frugal mom, as I am. I am flabbergasted. Told her I wouldn’t spend such ginormous amount of money in personal computer especially if the one will be using is such a fifteen year-old boy. I personally asked the boy what he wanted. He said, he would be happy to have just a gadget for his gaming needs. Then we could settle for a unit just around $500, I retorted.
Then, the sister called and told me sharply that the unit we should be getting should be the best quality and not just some second-class brands. “Get the one that is best for him.” Sweet! All the best things for a son. The mom is working out of the country and she seldom gets to be with her son. All her love she equates by giving the best material things this technological realm can offer. The son has a gaming console which needed repairs. He also had a hand-held portable gaming unit which got stolen in his school.
Personally, I had apprehensions about the plan. But, then, who am I to disagree? I am just helping out a friend. So, after googling out on many a shop and checked out technical features and prices at www.laptopcomputers.co.uk, off we go to the city.
After an hour of deciding which unit to get after the sales personnel toured us off on an array of computers, citing off pros and cons in each one he selected, he finally settled for a $850 HP unit. Whew! An overflowing love coming from a mother. After paying out and let the technician complete out the installation process, we headed off the nearby restaurant for lunch. While eating, I infused motherly advised to the kid. As a mother myself, when all I know about giving is loving. And, hoped that my kids would learn the value of love and guide them to be God-fearing and responsible individuals.
